Harriet E. (Spiegel) Hock, 90, of Orange Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Gardens at Orangeville. Born in Bloomsburg on October 17, 1935, she was a daughter to the late Delbert and Eulah (Boone) Spiegel.
Harriet was a graduate of Scott Township High School, Class of 1953, and would continue her education at Bloomsburg University. On January 23, 1955, she wed Jay S. Hock, with whom she would raise a family and share 71 years of marriage. She was a longtime employee of Central Columbia School District, retiring in 1998 having served as Business Manager and Transportation Supervisor. A woman of great faith, Harriet was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Espy and had served faithfully as treasurer, secretary, and as a member of both the choir and church council. She was also a member of Woman’s Civic Club of Espy. Harriet had enjoyed her horse farm, where she and Jay raised, and showed, Arabian horses. Following her retirement, she and Jay explored their love of antiques, even occupying a space at Rollermills Marketplace in Lewisburg. She also enjoyed traveling, trips to the beach, and RV’ing. More than anything, however, Harriet loved her family and spending time with them, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Hock; daughter, Roxanne Shifrin and husband, David, of Norwalk, CT, and their children: Henry Shifrin, Samantha Shifrin, and Oliver Shifrin; son, Duane Hock of Bloomsburg, and his children: Ryan Hock, Mitchell Hock and wife, Kaitlyn, and Corinne Melchiorre and husband, Mike; great-grandchildren: Kinlee, Kallie, and Cami; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
