Harold M. Krum, age 74, of Bloomsburg, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Grandview Health Home where he had resided since July 30. He had been in failing health for three years. Harold was a resident of his Hemlock Township home for 20 years and formerly lived in Catawissa Township, Columbia County.
Harold was born on Monday, March 24, 1941 in Cooper Township, Montour County, a son of the late Mearl and Helen (Ford) Krum. He graduated from the Danville High School in 1959.
On October 20, 1962, Harold married the former Judith Fetterman. They would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this October.
For 27 years Harold was employed as a Chemical Operator at the Riverside Cherokee Plant of Merck Pharmaceutical. He retired in 2001.
Harold was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Bloomsburg and formerly had volunteered as a fire fighter with Catawissa Fire Co.
In addition to his wife, Judith F. Krum, Harold is survived by a daughter: Christine K. Mays and husband, Wade, of Catawissa; a son: Stephen H. Krum and wife, Wendy, of Bloomsburg; three granddaughters: Alaina Mays, Lauren Krum and Kelsey Krum. Also surviving are two siblings: Shirley Pick of Danville and Melvin Krum of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Krum, and a sister, Carol Jones and a grandson.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St. Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Krum family.
