Goldie (Robbins) Walter Sherman, age 93, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, a resident of the Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville. She was a resident of her home in Scott Township for over 25 years.
Goldie was born on Tuesday, August 11, 1931 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Nina (Long) Robbins. She attended Bloomsburg High School. On February 18, 1984, Goldie married her loving husband, George W. Sherman who preceded her in death on March 25, 2017. For several years, she was employed by Bloomsburg Mills as a laborer until her retirement. Goldie was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. Goldie enjoyed spending her time being an avid horse lover and rider. She had two gaited Tennessee Walker and a quartered horse.
In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie was also preceded by three children: Leroy Walter, Clifton Walter and Roxanne Albertson, as well as their children's father, Edward John Walter and nine siblings. She was the last of her immediate family.
Survivors include her two beloved children: Linda Starr and husband Roland of Bloomsburg, Thomas Walter and wife Sharon of Bloomsburg, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, two daughters-in-in law: Danett Walter of Bloomsburg and Stephanie Walter of TX.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Sherman family.
