Gloria J. Chavez, age 80, of Bloomsburg died Monday, November 23, 2015 a resident of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center. Prior to living in Bloomsburg, Gloria was a resident of San Antonio TX.
Gloria was born of Saturday, August 10, 1935 in Philadelphia, a daughter of Dominick and Anna Zupito. Gloria was of the Catholic Faith. Most of her working life she was a waitress and a retail store manager. Her last employment was as owner and operator of a Day Care Center in San Antonio. She had a great love for children. She raised Siamese Cats and Poodle Dogs.
Gloria was the widow of Ricardo E. Chavez who died July 4, 2004. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son: James Keenan in 2014; a brother, Paul and three sisters: Mary Kalyigean, Tina Zupito and Susan Zupito.
Survivors include her son: Caesar Barone and wife, Jeanette of Bloomsburg; 3 granddaughters: Lori Engler, Diane Keenan and Dorena Pleis; three great grandchildren whom she raised as her own: Brittany, Hue and Vance Keenan; three additional great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and two sisters: Antoinette Zupito of Seattle and Dee Zupito of Denver CO.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
