Gladys M. Bennett, age 83, of Orangeville, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, a patient of the Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Mt. Carmel. Gladys was a resident of her home in Stony Brook Circle for over 30 years.

She was born on Monday, January 24, 1938 in Danville, a daughter of the late Dorvin and Dorothy (Minnick) Whalen. Gladys graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1955. On December 8, 1956, Gladys married her loving husband, Donald L. Bennett Sr., who preceded her in death on May 23, 2021. For several years, Gladys was employed by US Radium as an Operator. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. Gladys loved playing bingo, playing the Pennsylvania lottery games and going on bus trips with her late husband to Atlantic City, NJ and Mohegan Sun, Wilkes Barre. She enjoyed going with her family and friends to Saxe's Pond, Dushore, and she especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Gladys was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Whalen, Sr.

Survivors include her beloved son, Donald L. Bennett, Jr. and wife Brenda of Bloomsburg, a grandson, Douglas Bennett and fiancee Katie Downs, a granddaughter, Breanna Bennett and her husband Curtis Harner, three great-grandchildren, Brooks Allen Bennett, Crue Grayson Harner, Carys Ceaton Harner, a sister-in-law, Linda Whalen of Berwick, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Bennett side of the family.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Bennett family.
