Obituary

George H. Reichenbach, age 79, of Pottsgrove, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his residence in East Chillisquaque Township. He had been failing in health since June of 2008. George was born November 13, 1929, in Danville, PA. He was the son of the late Harry and Grace (Cook) Reichenbach. George attended the Danville Area Schools. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and served with the U.S. Army earning the rank of Corporal. He was formerly employed as a supervisor for Zenith, formerly Philco-Ford, in Watsontown for thirty-three years. George was last employed and retired from Strick in Washingtonville after ten years of service. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Pottsgrove.
George was preceded in death by a son, Jay Reichenbach in September of 2004, and a sister, Anna Miller. Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Marian (Bennett) Reichenbach; a daughter: Karen Geiswite and her husband, Lester, of Winfield; two sons: Scott Reichenbach and his wife, Diane, of Bloomsburg, and Roger Reichenbach and his wife, Julie, of Corinth, TX; and one sister:
Ruth Bieber of Watsontown. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Columbia Hill Cemetery, Danville with Rev. Robert Barner, Chaplin of Geisinger Hospice officiating. There will be combined VFW/Legion group providing military honors at the cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Memorial contributions in George's name are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church, South Mill Road, Pottsgrove, PA, 17865.
