George V. Kmiecinski, Jr., age 74, of Bellefonte and formerly of Drums passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Centre Care Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
He was born on Saturday, June 19, 1948 in Danville, a son of the late George V. and Thelma (Rupp) Kmiecinski. George graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1966. He faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in June,1969. George graduated from Bloomsburg University with a master's degree in Business Administration. For over 23 years, George was employed by the Pennsylvania State Police retiring as a Corporal on January 13, 1995. He enjoyed reading, a fine whiskey and cigars, as well as Cape Cod vacations with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hearn, and a brother, Thomas Kmiecinski.
Survivors include his beloved children, Joseph V. Kmiecinski and wife Erin of Warrenton, VA, Michael D. Kmiecinski and wife Jennifer of Malawi, Africa, John K. Kmiecinski and wife Ashley of Bellefonte, Kathryn J. Kmiecinski and husband Mostafa Khalil-Mohamed of Newark, NJ, six grandchildren, Jack Kmiecinski, Julia Kmiecinski, Omar Khalil-Mohamed, Benjamin Kmiecinski, Nathaniel Kmiecinski, Tessa Kmiecinski, a sister Susan Wehrer and husband David of Kingston, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kmiecinski of Webster, NY, and his longtime dear companion, Susan Lewis of Bloomsburg.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, pastor of Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg with military honors provided by the combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kmiecinski family.
