Gene D. Price, age 68, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Gene was born on Friday, January 17, 1947 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Charles D. and Mary Katherine (Barnes) Price. Throughout his younger years, he attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1964. On March 17, 1990, Gene married his wife the former, Leona "Lee" Wildoner of Bloomsburg. Gene was most recently employed at Knoebels Amusement Park where he proudly served as their Blacksmith for the past five years. He was a member of the PA Blacksmith Association and enjoyed creating beautiful pieces of ironwork. Gene also loved spending time with all of his family, and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Gene was also preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Vuocola in 1991; a great-grandson: Anthony in 2011 and also by a brother: Jack Price.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Leona "Lee" (Wildoner) Price, of Bloomsburg; five children: Donald Price and wife, Stacy, of Bloomsburg; David Price also of Bloomsburg; Brenda Vuocola and companion, Frank Peters, of Berwick; Allan Andrews and wife, Heather, of Ashland; and James "Jimmy" Andrews and wife, Lexie, of Bloomsburg; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Patsy "Pat" Harvey of Berwick; and Charles Price and wife, Susan, of West Palm Beach, FL.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday afternoon, August 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. from the Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Dr., in Bloomsburg.
Funeral services to celebrate Gene's life will also begin on Tuesday afternoon, August 25 at 2 p.m. from the Bloomsburg Christian Church with Elder, George Johns, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Price family.
