Gary L. Thomas , age 78, of Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, a patient of the Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville. Gary was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 19 years.

Gary was born on Thursday, November 20, 1941 in Danville, a son of the late Paul and Anne (Lehman) Thomas. Throughout his younger years, Gary attended the Shamokin area schools, and later graduated from the Shamokin High School in 1959. He expanded his education by attending Lafeyette College, Easton PA and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree as a Chemical Engineer. For 34 years he was employed by the US Department of Navy, retiring in 1997.

On February 7, 1970, Gary married his loving wife, Georgia Tauras. Gary was a faithful member of the Ridge St. United Methodist Church, Almedia.

In addition to his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Thomas and Kenneth Thomas.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Georgia Thomas. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Due to the recent events and the current CDC guidelines, funeral services will be held privately for the family with graveside services held in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Georgia apologizes for restricting Gary's friends from paying respects at this time. A celebration of Gary's life will be announced at later date.
