Frank J. Fritz Jr., age 85, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, a patient of the Grandview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Danville. Frank was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 55 years.

He was born on Wednesday, September 8, 1937 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Frank and Lilliann (Frey) Fritz. He graduated from the Bloomsburg High School. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, he enlisted on June 28, 1955 and was honorably discharged on September 5, 1958. On June 6, 1959, Frank married his loving wife, Janet M. (Bittenbender) Fritz who preceded him in death on September 24, 2021. He was employed by Geisinger as a medical lab technician until his retirement in 2003. Frank was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. He was also a member of the NRA and veterans association. Frank loved spending his time hunting, fishing, traveling, hiking and being a real homebody.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeri Gaye Gosciminski.

Survivors include his two children: Elizabeth Ann Allem of Quakertown, Steven A. Fritz of Bloomsburg, two grandchildren: Eric B. Allem of Coopersburg, Alyssa N. Funk and husband Jeremy of Fleetwood, two siblings: Gary Fritz and wife Anna Mae of Danville, and Lynn Fritz of Bloomsburg.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy with military honors provided by the combined American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
