Frances A. Rubenstein, age 91, of Orangeville and formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, a patient of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Frances was a resident of the Gardens of Orangeville for 12 years.
Frances was born on Wednesday, April 19, 1933 in Numidia, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Orzel) Petro. She graduated from the former Locust Township High School. On March 15, 1954, Frances married her loving husband, Maynard C. Rubenstein who preceded her in death on October 29, 2016. For all of her working life she was employed by Acme, Bloomsburg and Berwick, until her retirement. Frances enjoyed spending her time as an avid gardener and cooking for family gatherings.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was also preceded in death by two brothers: Johnny Petro, Paul Petro and a sister, Cecila Wozniak.
Survivors include her two beloved children: Kathy A. Hummel and husband Cleve of Bloomsburg, Dr. Brian Rubenstein of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren: Christa Hileman and husband Brad of Wellsville, Julie Moskovich Delp of Bloomsburg, Ryan Ammerman and wife Alycia of Orlando, FL, Dagaen Golomb of Philadelphia; Dr. Dylan Golomb, Samara Rubenstein, Aradhana Rubenstein and Chezna Rubenstein, all of VA and a step-granddaughter, Natacha Arora of NY; six great-grandchildren: Courtney Keefer and husband Brock of Mechanicsburg, Matthew Keefer of Wellsville, Travis Pequignot and wife Victoria of Bloomsburg, Tyler Pequignot of Lancaster, Luke Moskovich of Bloomsburg, Ava Moskovich of Bloomsburg; five great-great-granddaughters: Lilly Pequignot and Lexi Pequignot of Bloomsburg, Vivian Pequignot of Lancaster, Henley Ammerman of Orlando, FL and one on the way; three brothers: Bobby Petro and wife Donna, Frankie Petro and Tommy Petro and wife Tammy all of Numidia. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Rubenstein family.
