Obituary

Fannie "Betty" McHenry, age 91, of East 12th Street, Bloomsburg went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, March 14, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Hospital. She had been a resident at Bloomsburg Health Care Center since January. Born on Thursday, March 21, 1918, in Turbotville, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Fry) Menges. She resided at her current address since 1950. Prior to retiring in March 1977, Fannie had been employed as a Supervisor with Bell Telephone Company for over 20 years and worked at R. & G. Silk Mill earlier in life. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg; Ladies of the Loyal Order of Moose and was Secretary of its former convention club; Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary; and the Bell Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting and puzzles and most especially time spent with her grandchildren. Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. McHenry on May 7, 2009; a granddaughter, Christine Molus on December 17, 2000; a brother, Edward Menges and sisters, Dorothy Milkes and Jean Coup. Surviving is her daughter, Grace Jaskiewicz and her companion Paul Coxe, Lightstreet; a son, Rodney McHenry and his wife Eleanor, Hemet, CA; grandsons, Dennis and Thomas Jaskiewicz, both of Bloomsburg; and Gregg McHenry, Kingwood, TX; granddaughters, Diane Bardsley, Brighton, MI, and Sharon Parks, Iron Station, NC; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Barnes and Laura Meridith, both of Ohio; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg with her pastor Rev. Jay E. Jones of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Suite 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
