Evelyn C. Hendershot, age 103, of Old Bridge, NJ, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, a resident of the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. Evelyn was a former resident of Bloomsburg.
Evelyn was born on Monday, June 16, 1913 in Jamison City, Pennsylvania, one of twelve children of the late Bruce and Margaret (Rhone) Kline.
Evelyn was a former member of the Catawissa Eastern Star Lodge. She enjoyed spending her time watching baseball and football on television.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Evelyn was also preceded by her husband, Raymond E. Hendershot, Sr. and her son: Raymond E. Hendershot, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter in law: Susan Hendershot of Lebanon, NJ; grandchildren: Gina Ward of Horsham, PA, and Steven Hendershot (Tracy) of Phillipsburg, N; 3 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Virginia C. Bailey, Ridge Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to be serving the Hendershot family.
