Eugene W. Eddy, age 84, of Northumberland and formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2021, at Nottingham Village Skilled Nursing Center, Northumberland. Eugene was a resident of his home in Northumberland for the past year and previously resided in Bloomsburg for 50 years.
He was born on Monday, March 1, 1937, in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Fred and Ada (Shuck) Eddy. Eugene graduated from Fairmont High School, Fairmont, WV, in 1955. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1959, and Lehigh University in 1970 with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Eugene faithfully served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1960-1968. On May 30, 1959, Eugene married his wife, the former Mary Anne Pigott who preceded him in death on September 7, 2007. Eugene was employed by PPL for over 33 years as an Electrical Engineer until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. He served as Columbia County, Montour Township Supervisor for 10 years, and was a member of the Bloomsburg VFW, Bloomsburg American Legion, Bloomsburg Elks and the Northumberland Eagles.
Survivors include his companion, Maryann Rogers of Northumberland, a daughter, Barbara Anne Eddy and husband Ed Jedrzejewski of Spring Mills, PA, a son, David Morgan Eddy and wife Debbie of Montrose, CO, three grandchildren, Michael Eugene Eddy and wife Sarah, Jason Robert Eddy and wife Bekah, Kelly Anne Jedrzejewski, and three great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Eddy family.
