Erin Keller Holmgren, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania on February 10th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on November 30th, 1963, in Bloomsburg, Erin's life was a testament to love, joy, and meaningful relationships.
Erin was the daughter of Harry Keller III and Carol Brooks Foley. She shared 35 years of marriage with her husband, Hans Holmgren. Together, they raised two daughters, Katarina Holmgren, spouse Colin Hill, and Helena Holmgren, spouse Silas Chao. Erin delighted in spending time with her precious grandchildren, Linnea and Stellan. She was excited to love the baby boy on the way as well. Erin was the cherished younger sister of Diana Fernandez, spouse Ricardo Fernandez, and aunt of Gabriel Fernandez, spouse Savannah Dysard-Fernandez.
Erin graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1981. She earned a B.A. in French from Juniata College in 1985. She studied at the Université de Science Humaines in Strasbourg, France from 1983 to 1984, receiving her Diplome d'Etudes Francaises. Erin continued her academic pursuits, obtaining an M.A. in Art History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1988, where she met her husband. Erin and Hans were married in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. They enjoyed many wonderful memories, living in Sweden, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and recently returned to Bloomsburg.
Throughout her career, Erin shared her passion for art, culture, and learning with others, and was multilingual. She taught Art History at Mount Mary University and taught English while residing in Sweden. She excelled in sales and marketing, founding Access Essential Art, Inc. Later in her career, Erin found fulfillment as a Hospice Account Liaison, offering comfort and support to those in need.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Erin was deeply involved in her community. She and her beloved therapy poodle, Mowgli, made countless visits to nursing homes, schools, and YMCAs for twelve years. Erin embraced an active lifestyle, enjoying walks, gym sessions, yoga, and outdoor adventures. Her zest for life enriched the lives of those around her. Her warm and welcoming nature endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1:30 pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Lukes Way, Bloomsburg with Rev. John A. Mohan officiating, with light refreshments to follow. Graveside committal services will occur in the Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg at 4:00 pm. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Holmgren family.
