Emma A. Stewart, age 85, of Bloomsburg, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016, surrounded by her family, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Emma was born on Thursday, October 9, 1930 in Hemlock Township, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Maxwell and Rebecca (Moyer) Girton. Throughout her younger years, Emma attended the Hemlock Twp. schools.
For over 30 years, Emma was employed by Danville State Hospital and retired as a Laundry Supervisor. In her younger years she was employed at MaGee Carpet Co. Emma was a member of Straub's Lutheran Church. Emma enjoyed spending her time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Emma was also preceded by four sisters: Josephine Laubach, Mary Ruth Buckley, Alice Babb, and Maxine Poust. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Emma's survivors include her three children: Sandra Knorr and husband, Terry; W. Terry Stewart and wife, Stephanie; Cindy Flick and husband, David, all of Bloomsburg, PA, 10 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren.
At Emma's request, all services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Stewart family.
