Elizabeth "Ann" Conard, age 80, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday, June 21, 2013 under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice.
Ann was born on Tuesday, January 9, 1933 in Turbotville, a daughter of the late S. Lee and S. Marie (Snider) Menges. In 1951, Ann graduated from the North-Mont High School in Turbotville. Following her graduation, Ann completed her education as a Registered Nurse in 1954 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. On October 13, 1956, Ann married her beloved husband of 57 years, the late Paul L. Conard. Ann was employed by Geisinger Medical Center in Danville until 1960. Most recently, Ann was employed by Bloomsburg University in the Community Activities Department and the College Bookstore. She was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg and also participated with the women's church group. She also volunteered and was very active with the local Relay for Life. Ann loved making trips to Florida and Ocean City, NJ, but especially loved shopping with her three daughters and playing cards with her family.
Surviving are three daughters: Dr. Holly Dagney and husband, Dr. Thomas, of Vincennes, IN; Paula Faus and husband, Paul, of Bloomsburg and Molly Gottstein and husband, Wade, also of Bloomsburg; three grandsons: Jason and Daniel Gottstein and Justin Faus; and a brother: Robert L. Menges and wife, Rosalie, of Muncy.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening, June 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, June 27, at 10 a.m. from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Turbotville Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to either the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, c/o Love Knots or c/o WELCA, 123 N.
