Elizabeth A. "Betty" Brennan, age 82, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, a patient of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Betty was a resident of her home in South Centre Township for over 47 years.
She was born on Monday, July 28, 1941 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late William Richard and Kathryn (Kelly) Witsch. She graduated from the West Catholic High School in 1959. On April 20, 1963, Betty married her loving husband, John F. Brennan III who preceded her in death on October 26, 2004. For many years, Betty was employed by the Columbia County Courthouse in the Prothonotary Office as a Legal Secretary until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. Her most precious treasure was her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by two sisters; Regina Llewellyn, and her twin, Margaret Witsch, a daughter, Patricia Rosario, and a daughter-in-law, Christine Brennan. She was the last of her immediate family.
Survivors include her two beloved children; Elizabeth Walters and husband George of Bloomsburg, John F. Brennan, IV of Berwick, two grandsons; Mitchel Rosario and wife Jaymi of Nescopeck, Colton Rosario of Denver, CO, a great-granddaughter, Addison Emanuel of Nescopeck, and three step-grandchildren; Ashley Risk and husband Eric of Peach Bottom, PA, Jeff Walters of Towson, MD, and Tim Walters of Green Brook Township, NJ.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Brennan family.
