Eleanor H. "Shorty" Beltz, age 95, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Thursday morning, May 16, 2024, under hospice care at the home of her daughter, Barbara Mensinger in Thomasville.
She was born on Saturday, October 20, 1928 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Hazel R. (Young) Trump. Eleanor was raised by her late grandparents Harry and Fannie Young in Bloomsburg. Eleanor graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1946. She was employed by the Waffle Grill and The Buckhorn Truck Stop as a waitress and later in the food service department at Central Columbia School District until her retirement. Eleanor was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church, Bloomsburg and she enjoyed spending her time with the women's bowling league, Bloomsburg.
In addition to her mother and grandparents, Eleanor was also preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Kinsey, and Josie Geary.
Survivors include her beloved children, a daughter; Barbara Mensinger and her husband Clair of Thomasville, a son; Richard Beltz and his wife Kathy of Fredericksburg, VA, five grandchildren; Scott Beltz, Tonya J. Martin, Christopher Beltz and his wife Taryn, Jennifer A. Beltz, Danielle M. Keith and her husband Douglas, Jr., ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a sister; Betty L. Beyers and her husband Bill of Bloomsburg.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, pastor of Shiloh Bible Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Canby Lutheran Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Beltz family.
