Eleanor A. Miller, age 89, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday, July 16, 2018, a resident of the Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomsburg. Eleanor was a resident of her home on 12th Street in Bloomsburg for over 58 years.
Eleanor was born on Thursday, December 27, 1928 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late John and Julia (Austin) McCloskey. Throughout her younger years, Eleanor attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1946. Eleanor married her loving husband, Reginald Miller on November 11, 1948. Reginald died April 8, 2011.
Eleanor was a wife, mother and homemaker. Along with her husband, Eleanor continually provided fresh fruit and vegetables to her family and was well known for selling her produce from her backyard garden and from the family farm in Franklin Township.
Eleanor was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish of Bloomsburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was also preceded by sister in infancy, Rose Marie McCloskey.
Survivors include her children: Richard L. Miller of Catawissa, Regina E. Chiogna of Mountain Top, Rock E. Miller of Bloomsburg, Rosemarie Neiderhiser and husband, Dale, of Bloomsburg, Blase I. Miller and wife, Lisa ,of Orangeville, Christine C. Dilg and husband, Edward, of Bloomsburg, Bonita D. Gibson and husband, Chris, of Chesepeak, VA, 17 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Private family services were held at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Eleanor was buried beside her husband in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Miller family.
