Elaine C. Hinde, age 70, of Bloomsburg, died on Thursday, January 26, 2011 a recent patient of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Elaine had been enduring a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 25 years. She and her husband have been residents of the Bloomsburg area for the past 28 years and formerly resided in Seneca Falls, New York.
Elaine was born on Monday, December 15, 1941 in Framingham, Massachusetts, a daughter of Eleanor (Borelli) Tusia of Hopedale, MA and the late Dominic Tusia. She was a member of the 1960 Graduating Class of the Ashland High School. Throughout most of her working career, she was employed by General Electric in Ashland. She has been a devoted member of the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia for many years. She loved spending time outside gardening and was well known for her wonderful cooking abilities.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her beloved husband of over 36 years, Ralph F. Hinde, having been married to Elaine on November 19, 1975; also surviving is a son: Benjamin Mackiewicz and wife, Karen, of Bloomsburg; a daughter: Lisa Lynch and husband, Robert, of Hopedale, MA; a step-son: Ralph F. Hinde, Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Columbia, MD; a step-daughter: Sheila Spaulding and husband, Wayne, of San Francisco, CA; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by two loving and compassionate care-givers: Kathy Wike of Bloomsburg and Bonnie Sutton of Catawissa. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A time of Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday evening, January 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31 at 10 a.m. Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St., (Almedia), Bloomsburg with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating.
