Obituary

Elaine Marqueen Adams, age 88, formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, a resident of the Maria Joseph Manor, Danville. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg.

Elaine was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1938 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Jack Keller and Mildred (Black) Steinruck. She graduated from the Bloomsburg High School. On July 14, 1967, Elaine married her loving husband, Belford Ray Adams who preceded her in death on December 16, 2005. For over 27 years, she was employed by Wayne W. Knorr Inc. as clerical staff until her retirement in 2002. Elaine attended the Shiloh Bible Church, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, playing cards, and she loved to socialize. Most important to her was time spent with friends and family. Elaine would always remember you with a card or phone call. Her macaroni and cheese and sticky buns were always a request at every gathering. She was so knowledgeable and always willing to give sound advice. Elaine will be remembered for her loving nature and quick wit. Even as we slowly lost so much of her to Dementia, she never lost her fun-loving spirit.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was also preceded in death by her son, Jack Duane Unger, Jr. and two brothers: Jerry Keller and Allan Maurer.

Survivors include her beloved daughter: Jill Rogala and husband Paul of Bloomsburg, daughter-in-law, Lorraine Unger of Mifflinville; seven grandchildren: Jack Unger III, Patricia Unger, Danielle Gordon and husband Timothy, Gabrielle Gensmer and husband Zebulon, James Myers, Mathew Myers, Joseph Matias III; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

The staff and residents at Maria Joseph became her extended family, showing her such love and compassion. We will forever be thankful for the care given to her, especially over these past few months.

Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, Shiloh Bible Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Adams family.
