E.J. McHenry, age 94, a 58 year resident of 95 East 12th St., Bloomsburg, concluded his journey in life Thursday evening, May 7, in the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where he was a patient for two months. Mr. McHenry was the only son of William E. and Maude J. Johnson McHenry on February 19, 1915 in Orangeville. E.J. attended the Stillwater and Bloomsburg schools. He enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting & fishing, wood working and spending time with his family. He retired in 1976 from Magee Carpet Co. as Foreman of the Maintenance Department. Following retirement he was train engineer at Knobels Grove for 20 years. Mr. McHenry was a 50 year member of Wesley United Methodist Church. In addition, he was a life member of the Bloomsburg Fire Dept., Bloomsburg Firemen's Relief Assoc., Bloomsburg Elks and Bloomsburg Moose. Mr. McHenry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Menges McHenry. Also surviving is a daughter Grace Jaskiewicz, companion of Paul Coxe, of Lightstreet; a son: Rodney McHenry and wife, Eleanor, of Hemet, CA; five grandchildren: Dennis Jaskiewicz and wife, Suzanne, of Bloomsburg, Thomas Jaskiewicz and wife, Bonita, of Bloomsburg, Gregg McHenry and wife, Anne, of Kingwood, TX, Diane Bardsley and husband, Jon, of Brighton, MI and Sharon Parks and husband, Alfred, of Iron Station, NC; 13 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. E.J. was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Christine McHenry Molus in 2000. Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St. where funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Jay E. Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Memorial contributions are suggested to Columbia Montour Home Health, 410 Glenn Ave., Suite 200, Bloomsburg.
