Eileen R. (Lawton) Lewellyn, 88, formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, June 29, 2026 at Emmanuel Center for Nursing in Danville. Born in Bloomsburg on June 15, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Seymour and Dorothy (Ashworth) Lawton.
Eileen was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Class of 1956. On August 2, 1958, she wed Donald J. Lewellyn, with whom she would raise her family and share 66 years of marriage. Eileen was a longtime employee of Central Columbia School District. She had also been employed by the Magee Carpet Co. A woman of great faith, she was very active in her church, Bloomsburg Christian Church, where she had been the organist, choir director, and librarian, as well as volunteering in numerous other capacities. She was also a member of the Columbia County Historical Society and a volunteer at the Bloomsburg Hospital. Eileen was a talented quilter who often displayed her works at the Bloomsburg Fair. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and puzzles. More than anything, Eileen enjoyed time spent with her family.
Surviving Eileen are her children: Cathy Rader and fiancé, DuWayne Mutchler, of Naples, FL, Joyce Amick of Mifflinville, and James Lewellyn and wife, Julie, of Bloomsburg; grandchildren: Jared Lewellyn, Luke Amick, Noah Amick, Elias Amick, Joshua Rader, Jonah Rader, Mikayla Lebo, and Sara Amick; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Lewellyn, who passed away November 23, 2024. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Michael Amick; great-grandchildren: Amber Amick and Charles Amick; and sisters: Joanne Calhoun and Mae Lee Krum.
All are welcome to join Eileen’s family for her Memorial Service 4 PM Friday July 3, 2026 at Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Drive, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. Bloomsburg Christian Church Lead Pastor Eric Miller will officiate. Friends will be received from 3 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve Eileen’s family.
