Edwin D. "Ed" Crawford, age 81, of Bloomsburg, died at home on Saturday, December 10, 2016, surrounded by family and under the care of Columbia Montour Hospice. Ed was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 55 years.
Ed was born on Sunday, September 22, 1935 in Bloomsburg, son of the late Jay A. and Marjorie E. (Miller) Crawford. Throughout his younger years, Ed attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1953. He expanded his education by attending Bloomsburg State College, and earned a Master's Degree in 1970. He faithfully served his country in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960.
On April 28, 1956, Ed married his loving wife, Beverly D. Adams of Bloomsburg. For over 29 years, Ed was employed by Millville School District as a teacher in the Business Department until his retirement on June 1, 1999. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired School Employees.
Ed enjoyed spending time woodworking, watching the Phillies and Eagles but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Beverly D. Crawford; daughters: Karen M. (Paul) Houseknecht of Bloomsburg and Amy J. (Craig) Montgomery of Hughesville;
granddaughters: Megan MacLellan, Abby (Jason) Teats, and Ali Montgomery; great children: Clayton, Julia, and Scarlett MacLellan: sisters:, Joyce Pealer of Bloomsburg, and Sharon (Gib Robbinson) Robbins of Bellefonte.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Eileen Chapman officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Crawford family.
