Edward A. Stark, age 93, of Danville, and formerly of Montrose, PA died on Friday, December 14, 2018, a patient of the Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville. Edward was a resident of Danville for over 6 years.

Edward A. Stark, age 93, of Danville, and formerly of Montrose, PA died on Friday, December 14, 2018, a patient of the Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville. Edward was a resident of Danville for over 6 years.

He was born on Saturday, September 26, 1925 in Clarks Green, PA a son of the late Theo R. and Cordelia Gertrude (Pease) Stark. Edward graduated from the Clarks Summit High School in 1943. He was a graduate of Keystone Junior College, LaPlume, PA in 1948, Wittenberg University, OH with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Master of Arts Degree from Bowling Green State University, OH in 1950 and Doctor of Philosophy from Ohio State University in 1955. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II with the Army of Occupation in Japan, having received flight training in Oklahoma and was honorably discharged in March 1946. On April 2, 1947, Edward married his loving wife the former Margaret F. Fellows who preceded him in death on August 28, 2011.

Edward was employed in the field of Education and Training as a Human Factors Engineer until his retirement in 1987 from Link Simulation, Kirkwood, NY. He was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg, and a past member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montrose where he served on the church vestry. He was a member of the American Psychological Association. He was a 1987 recipient of the de Florez Award, an internationally recognized award for Outstanding Achievment in Aerospace Research and Training. He enjoyed photography, target shooting, was an avid reader of fiction and non fiction. He earned his private pilot license and served on the Montrose Town Council for several years.

In addition to his wife and parents, Edward was also preceded by four siblings, Rosalyn Stark, Harold V. Stark, Natalie Stanford, and Theodore R. Stark.

Survivors include his four children, Karen A. wife of Kenneth Roszel of Bloomsburg, Lynn M. wife of Bruce Hansell of Chadds Ford, PA, Edward Theo Stark and wife Jill Blachek Stark of Towson, MD, and Susan G. Anderson of CA, two granddaughters, Lisa D. Hansell of West Chester, and Katherine R. Coffey.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg.

Requiem Eucharist will begin on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, East Main and Iron Streets, Bloomsburg with Father Howell Sasser, Rector. Graveside committal services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, PA. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Stark family. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and medical staff at Maria Joseph Manor and Emmanuel Nursing Center for all their loving care given to Edward during his stay at both facilities.
