Edward D. Miller, age 61, 284 River Hill Drive, Catawissa Township, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 24 at his residence. He had lived his entire life on River Hill Drive.

Ed was born May 9, 1947 in Danville, the son of the late W. Kermit and Mary (Mack) Miller. He was a 1965 graduate of Southern Columbia High School. Since childhood, Ed helped operate the family farm in Catawissa Twp. He was currently employed at Bloomsburg Town Hall, prior to that he was employed for over twenty years as Head of Security at the Bloomsburg Hospital.

Ed was Treasurer of Bloomsburg Firemen's Relief Assoc., he currently served as President of Bloomsburg Fire Department where he had been a member his entire adult life, was former President of the former Friendship, Fire Co., was a member of the Bloomsburg Ambulance Assoc. for nearly thirty years where he was currently the Supervisor of Equipment and was a member of Bloomsburg Moose Lodge #623.

Ed is survived by his wife, Irene M. (Kelsey) Miller who he married January 15, 1972; a sister: Susan Burcoff, Brewster, NY; two nieces: Jennifer Gadams and Tammy Leipold and two nephews: Daniel and Robert Kressler.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Banquet Room of Bloomsburg Fire Department, 911 S. Market Street, with Rev. Jay Jones, Bloomsburg Fire Dept. Chaplain officiating. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St., Bloomsburg. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name are suggested to Bloomsburg Fire Department, 911 Market St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815 or Bloomsburg Volunteer Ambulance Association, 307 E.
