Douglas W. Smith, Jr., age 50, of Lykens, PA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at his home. Doug was a resident of his home in Lykens for over 10 years.
He was born on Sunday, February 27, 1972 in Lewisburg, a son of Douglas W. Smith, Sr. and Denise K. (Bridge) Musser. Doug graduated from Warrior Run High School, Turbotville, in 1992 and Valor Christian College, Columbus, OH, in 2019, with an Associate Degree in Pastoral Studies. On August 23, 2008, Doug married his loving wife, the former Gigi M. Martin. For many years, he served as a Pastor for several churches and was a member of the Calvary Independent Church, Lykens and a member of City Harvest Network. He was also a member of the Perdix Fire Company, Duncannon, PA. Doug enjoyed spending his time being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping, visiting beaches, family reunions, and amusement parks. He loved spending time with his family and his pets.
Doug was preceded in death by a son, Andrew C. Smith on January 4, 2012.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Gigi M. Smith of Bloomsburg, his father, Douglas W. Smith, Sr. and wife Lisa of Watsontown, mother, Denise K. Musser and husband Raymond of Watsontown, six children, Candie M. Musser of Williamsport, Ashley J. Price and husband Matthew of Millville, Evelyn C. Smith of Bloomsburg, Katelyn R. Smith of Bloomsburg, Cayden D. Smith of Bloomsburg, Jeremiah Q. Smith of Bloomsburg, twelve grandchildren, four siblings; Raymond Musser, IV and wife Wendie of Mt. Carmel, Devin M. Sloan of Northumberland, Craig Smith of Watsontown, Nicole Smith of Watsontown, an aunt, Cassandra Brown of Watsontown, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Robert Straub, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the McEwensville Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville, PA. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Smith family.
