Dorothy L. Linn, age 80, of 288 East 9th St., Bloomsburg, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall. She had been a resident of East Street for over 50 years.Dorothy was born May 27, 1929 in Bear Gap, a daughter of the late John I. and Florence I. (Artley) Yeager. She attended a one room school in Bear Gap and graduated in 1947 from the Ralpho Township school.Dorothy was a 50 year member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed time with family and friends and participated in many bus trips which she enjoyed.On November 11, 2002, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Jay H. Linn. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Betty Lorencen in 1995.Survivors include a son: Barry J. Linn (Sophia) of Germany, a daughter Kathy Smethers (Doyle) of Mainville, five grandchildren, a great grandson and four siblings: Melvin Yeager of Bear Gap, Roy Yeager (Betty) of Bear Gar, John Yeager of Catawissa and Mary LeVan (Marvin) of Catawissa.Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Market at Third St. with Pastor of Visitation, Lisa Mitchell, officiating. Burial will be in Creveling Cemetery, Almedia.
