Dorothy Jean "Dot" Patacconi, age 89, formerly of Espy, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013, a resident of Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was also a former resident of Loyalton at Bloomsburg for over four years.
Dot was born on Saturday, January 26, 1924 in Bloomsburg a daughter of the late Marc and Elsie (Broadt) Ivey. During her younger years, Dot attended the former Bloomsburg Normal School. Following her education, she was employed by Bloomsburg Mills, Inc. and later by Magee Carpet Co.
On September 20, 1944, during World War II, Dot met and later married, her late husband, Daniel Patacconi, who passed on November 4, 1974.
Throughout most of her life, she cared for children and family at home. She loved spending time with her family at family gatherings and also enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren when time allowed.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, Dot was also preceded by a son: Timothy Patacconi on August 26, 1991; a sister: Catherine Williams; and three brothers: Harold Ivey, Richard Ivey and Donald Ivey.
Survivors include three sons: Tony Patacconi and wife, Sally, of New Cumberland; Thomas Patacconi and wife, Carolyn, of Bloomsburg; and Ted Patacconi and wife, Michelle, of Drums; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Janice Hartman of Bloomsburg; and Elaine Ivey of Millville; and also a brother: Dale Ivey and wife, Sis, of Danville.
Public Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 7th at 11 a.m. in the Elan Memorial Park Cemetery in Lime Ridge with Rev. Joel Stauffer of the Sweet Valley Christian Church, officiating.
