Dorothy M. (Edwards) Whitmoyer, age 86, formerly of Penn Brook Drive, Bloomsburg died on January 31, 2011, a resident of Riverwoods Senior Living Community in Lewisburg. A resident of Bloomsburg for over 50 years, she also resided on West 3rd Street. Dorothy had been failing in health for the pas four years.
Dorothy was born on Friday, July 25, 1924 in Benton, a daughter of the late Robert and Hazel G. Diltz Eveland. She attended the Benton Schools until 11th Grade, until moving to Bloomsburg. She was a member of the 1942 Graduating Class of the Bloomsburg High School. For over 20 years, she was employed by Magee Carpet Co. and following retirement was employed by Scotts Floral in Danville and Berwick for eight years. She was a member of the former First Church of Christ in Bloomsburg. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge in Bloomsburg and also the California Grange of Washingtonville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Elwood Michael, William E. Edwards on March 9, 1982, and Roy Whitmoyer; a sister: Erma L. Robbins on April 18, 1999; and three brothers: Frank Gordon Cole on November 5, 1966; Paul E. Eveland on November 1, 2004; and Budd R. Eveland on May 30, 1992.
Survivors include four daughters: Joanne M. Fedder of Bloomsburg; Debbie K. Zettlemoyer and her husband, George, of Basking Ridge, NJ; Paula D. Kline of New Columbia; and Sandi L. Milroy and her husband, Glenn, of Bloomsburg; and two grandsons: George E. Zettlemoyer and his wife, Maria, and Carl J. McWilliams and his wife, Cindy; two great-grandchildren: Andrew J. and Mya L. Zettlemoyer. Dorothy was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 2 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg with Rev. Allen F. Acor, officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside Services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
