Obituary

Doris Louise Conner, age 89, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 a resident of Balanced Care at Bloomsburg, Scott Township. Prior to moving to Third Street, she also resided at her home in Stoney Brook Circle until 1992.
Doris was born on Wednesday, October 19,1921 in Fishing Creek Township, a daughter of the late Samuel Clyde and Stella Blanche (Shultz) Rhone. She was a member of the 1939 Graduating Class of the former Orangeville High School. Until her retirement in 1982, she was employed as a Sewing Machine Operator by Milco Industries in Bloomsburg. She was employed by Milco Industries for over 35 years. She was a member of the Rohrsburg Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benjamin Franklin Conner in 1975, and two sisters: Helen Avery and Edna Rhone and a brother: Harold Rhone.
Survivors include a daughter: Barbara Remley and husband, Howard "Butch", of Bloomsburg; two grandchildren: Kirby Smith and wife, Julie of Bloomsburg and Debra Shade and companion, Jack Devine, of Palm Harbor FL; two great-grandchildren: Aaron Smith and Alex Brong; and two sisters: Flora Rutledge of Coatsville, and Genevieve Kitchen of Benton.
Private graveside services will be held in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
