Donna L. (Janke) Terra, age 69, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday evening, June 2, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Donna was born on Thursday, May 24, 1945 in Modesto, California, a daughter of the late Harold "Jack" Janke and Doris (Watkins) Janke of Hatboro, Pennsylvania. In 1963, Donna concluded her education after graduating from the Hatboro-Horsham High School. On January 11, 1964, Donna married her husband Lou Terra formerly of Warrington. For over 20 years, Donna was employed by Geisinger Medical Center in Danville as an office supervisor. In her spare time, she expressed her love of arts by creating beautiful cards and jewelry. She was an avid traveler of the world and amateur photographer. Donna also loved animals and passed her love of horses on to her daughters and granddaughters.
In addition to her father, Donna was preceded in death by her beloved grandson: Robby L. Carey on July 20, 2008.
Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Lou Terra of Bloomsburg; four daughters: Debra Terra Carey of Millville; Cathy Sorman and husband, Hakan, of Lansdale; Dianne Terra-Ross and husband, Duncan, of Winchester, England; and Christine Terra of New York, NY; five grandchildren: Shannon, Blake, Jillian, Brad and Tara; three siblings: Diane Cook of Doylestown, David Janke of Boise, ID; and Donald "Steve" Janke and wife, Eileen, of Skippack, PA; twenty-two nieces and nephews and her beloved pets: Chloe, a Welsh Corgi, and Blue, her Siamese cat.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday afternoon, June 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. from the Mill-Green United Methodist Church, 100 N. State St., in Millville.
Funeral services will also begin on Friday, June 6 at 2 p.m. from the Mill-Green United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Strozyk, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Dutch Hill Cemetery, Madison Township. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 W. Main at Railroad Street, Millville is honored to be serving the Terra family.
