Donald R. Kline, age 88, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at his Madison Township residence.
He was born on Monday, March 6, 1933 at the family farm, the youngest son of the late Floyd B. and Dorothy (Bowen) Kline. Donald lived in the same home that he was born in until the age of 70, when he moved out the road on the same farm in 2002. The farm has been in Donald's family since 1792. Donald graduated from the Millville Area High School in 1951. While in school he played first base on the 1950 baseball team, when they won the North Branch Columbia County Championship. He joined his father in the family dairy farm and on October 18, 1957, he married the former Faye Nichols, they took over the farm in 1960, they shared a full life together working side by side on their farm. Their sons, Wayne and Larry joined the work force as they grew older.
Donald was a member of the Emanuel Dutch Hill Bible Church. He liked to hunt and travel. He and his wife have traveled over the United States, visiting all 50 states, also traveling to Canada, Switzerland, Mexico and sailing through the Panama Canal, also enjoying the Rose Bowl Parade in California.
In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Zella (Wolf) Kline, two brothers, James R. Kline, Eugene P. Kline, and a sister, Ruth "Eloise" (Kline) Eves.
Survivors include his sons, Wayne D. Kline of Bloomsburg, Larry D. Kline and wife Donna of Bloomsburg, a grandson, Benjamin F. Kline of Berwick, a granddaughter, Amanda wife of Jared Staskiel of Bloomsburg, two great-grandchildren, Eric Staskiel, Annie Staskiel, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 West Main at Railroad streets, Millville.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Millville. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Millville Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kline family.
