Obituary

Donald C. Harmon , age 51, of Berwick, died on Saturday, January 30, 2016, surrounded by his family and under the care of Columbia Montour Hospice. He had been ill since July 2014.
Donald was a resident of his home in Berwick for over 24 years.
Donald was born on Friday, April 24, 1964 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, a son of Clara (Martenas) Harmon of Altoona, PA and the late John Harmon . Donald graduated from the Columbia Montour Vo Tech in 1982.
Don was very mechanically inclined in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, construction, landscaping and automotive projects.
On February 16, 1985, Donald married his loving wife, Sheri Kay (Sink) Harmon, formerly of Berwick. They were by each others' side for 30 years.
For over 28 years, Donald was employed by Berwick Offray until his health would not allow.
Donald was always involved in building, fixing or creating something. His passion for many years was his love of horses. He bred, showed and trained numerous quarter horses he owned with his wife. For many years he farmed not only for himself but for others. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycle and just about anything being outdoors. For the past several years he loved to go to Florida where salt water fishing was one of his favorite activities.


Known as a generous person, Don had a heart of gold and was always helping others. He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. His faithful pets, Ben and Willie will miss him deeply as they would spend hours at his side while he tinkered in the yard and garage.
Donald attended the Ridge St. United Methodist Church, Almedia and was a social member of The American Ukrainian Citizens Club, Berwick.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his beloved wife, Sheri Kay (Sink) Harmon, sister, Sharon Diehl and husband, William, of Bloomsburg and brother, Thomas Harmon and wife, Amber, of Berwick.
Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday morning, February 3, at 10 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg with Rev. Stephen Portner of Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Creveling Cemetery, Almedia. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Harmon family.
