Obituary

Dolores J. (Stewart) Sneidman, age 84, of Almedia, died on Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015, at her home surrounded by family and under the care of Columbia Montour Hospice.
Dolores was born on Wednesday, October 1, 1930 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Roy and Ruby (Farnham) Stewart. Throughout her younger years, Dolores attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1948. While in high school, Dolores was employed by the former Russell's Ice Cream Store in Bloomsburg. Following her education, she was employed as an operator with Bell Telephone until she became married and started a family. In addition to raising her children, Dolores cleaned homes and businesses, and also worked in the local Folk Florist Greenhouse and Garden Center. She was a very active member of the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia where she sang with the choir, assisted in Bible School Programs, the Pioneer Girls, Busy Bee's, helped prepare communion and enjoyed Bible study. She was also a Cub Scout Den for many years. Dolores loved the Bloomsburg Fair and working at Folk's fried vegetable stands. She will always be remembered as a very selfless, kind and hardworking woman.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Kenneth G. Sneidman, who passed on November 9, 2008 and also by a sister: Mary Ruth Stewart.
Survivors include a daughter: Laurie Morris and husband, Jack; two sons: Daniel Sneidman and wife, Irene; and Michael Sneidman and wife, Becky, all of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: James, Matthew, Eric, Rachel and Mark; two great-granddaughters: Sarah and Raelyn; a step-granddaughter: Caitlin; two step-great-grandsons: Elijah and Judah; and a special adopted daughter: Vern.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening, February 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg. Friends will also be received on Monday morning, February 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. from the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street (Almedia) in Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will also begin on Monday morning February 9 at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Creveling Cemetery, Almedia. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Sneidman family.
