Dolores J. "Dolly" Bauman, age 78, of West 3rd Street, Bloomsburg, died on Friday, April 23, 2010 as a patient in the Bloomsburg Hospital Emergency Room. She was a resident of her home on West 3rd Street since 1966. She was born on Monday, May 18, 1931 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Howard and Fae (Gerber) Jones. Dolores was a 1949 graduate of the Bloomsburg High School. She also received her LPN License in 1974. Until her retirement in 1993, she was employed by the Bloomsburg Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed with the Bloomsburg Hospital for over 25 years. Dolores was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish and a member of the Legion of Mary. One of her favorite past times was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she also enjoyed reading. She was an active volunteer with the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary. She served as First Lady of Bloomsburg with her husband, the former Mayor of Bloomsburg for three terms from 1982-1989 and 1995-1999. She is survived by her husband of 61 years; Daniel J. Bauman, whom she married on September 20, 1948; two daughters: Lee Ann Boiwka and her husband, Joseph of Benton, and Lynne B. Greenly of Bloomsburg; two sons: Daniel J. Bauman, Jr. and his wife, Gena of Scotia, New York and Howard R. Bauman and his wife, Cynthia of Lancaster; eight grandchildren: Kristen (Bauman) Tedford, Brian Bauman, Nicholas Bauman, Matthew Greenly, Leah Greenly, Katlyn (Boiwka) McHenry, Angela Bauman and Bradley Bauman; three great-grandchildren: Emma Tedford, Jackson Tedford and Lauren Tedford; and a sister-in-law, who was like a sister: Mary (Bauman) Wegrzyn and her husband, Robert of Niagara Falls, New York. A Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, April 26 from 6-8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market Street in Bloomsburg. A Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. from the St. Columba Catholic Parish, at Third and Iron Street in Bloomsburg with Rev. Alfred Sceski, of Queen of Most Holy Rosary in Elysburg as celebrant. The immediate family will provide flowers.
