Derek M. Morrison, age 32, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2022, surrounded by his family at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

He was born on Friday, January 5, 1990, in Bloomsburg, a son of Jon W. Morrison and Julie L. Fruit. Throughout his younger years, Derek attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 2008. For several years, Derek was employed as a construction worker. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing, cooking and all outdoor activities.

Survivors include his beloved parents, Jon W. Morrison of Selbyville, DE and Julie L. Fruit of Bloomsburg; a brother, Dylan M. Morrison of Bloomsburg, a sister, Kallie L. Miller of Bloomsburg, maternal grandparents: Harry L. and Deborah J. Fruit of Bloomsburg, paternal grandparents: John W. and Marilyn Y. Morrison of Salisbury, MD, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all of the above.

A Celebration of Derek's life will be held at a future date with his family and friends. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Morrison and Fruit families.
