Dennis L. Long , age 70, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was a resident of his home in Montour Township for over 35 years.

Dennis was born on Friday, May 6, 1949 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Albert L. and Mary Lou (Patterson) Long. Throughout his younger years, he attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1967.

On July 21, 1984, Dennis married his loving wife, Dorothy L. (Ashelman) Long. For over 35 years, he was employed by Columbia County as a Tax Claim Director until his retirement in 2004.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 35 years, Dorothy L . Long; are three children: Leigh Hrinda and husband, Peter, of Barkhamsted, CT, Christopher M. Long and wife, Pamela, of Bloomsburg, and Kayla Bellum and husband, Zachary, of Bloomsburg, as well as 5 grandchildren: Dylan Hrinda, Riley Hrinda, Evan Hrinda, Gavin Long, and Ava Bellum. He was the last member of his immediate family.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will continue at 10:00 am with Rev. Mark Rowell, pastor of the Orangeville UCC Charge, officiating.

Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Long family.
