Obituary

Delores E. "Lowie" Hidlay, age 91, of Bloomsburg, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 29, 2021.

She was born on Tuesday, May 7, 1929 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Myron and Eva (Levan) Longenberger. Throughout her younger years, Delores attended the Main Twp. School District. She lived her entire life in the Bloomsburg area and was a longtime resident of Espy. Delores, fondly known to many as "Lowie", loved to read and play cards with her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. Delores last worked at Tractor Parts, Espy, retiring in 1992 after 20 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy and The United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, Delores was also preceded in death by her beloved husband; Clayton E. Hidlay on February 10, 1999, two brothers, Darvin Longenberger, William Longenberger, a sister, Marie Terwilliger, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Bankes and Harry Terwilliger.

Survivors include her three children; Carol J. wife of Dennis Wagner of Bloomsburg, Donald E. Hidlay and wife Terri of Berwick, Nancy J. wife of Perry Leiby of Bloomsburg, five grandchildren; Vicki wife of Jeff Winn, Rayanne wife of Shawn Preisz, Jonathan Leiby and wife Bridget, Allison Hidlay, Nicholas Hidlay, eleven great grandchildren, a sister, Jean Bankes of Bloomsburg, two sisters-in-law, Helen Longenberger of Bloomsburg, Doris Longenberger of Zion Grove, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 2351 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelly Kocher-Ross, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Hidlay family.
