Della Ruth Kreisher, age 81, of 1303 Numidia Drive, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Mahoning Twp., Montour Co. where she was admitted Tuesday, December 29. She had been in ill health for several months. Della Ruth was born at home in West Hemlock Twp., Montour Co., on Saturday, November 10, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Kimber and Dorothy Mohr-Flora Billhime. She attended Sheep's School in West Hemlock Twp and also the Washingtonville School. With her daughter, Jean, Della Ruth was co-owner of "Thy Word Christian Book Store" of Bloomsburg for many years. She had also served as a cook at the former Elby's Restaurant and was most recently employed at Knoebel's Grove in the Catering Department and the Miniature Golf course. She was an avid quilter. Della Ruth was a member of the Numidia Charge of the United Church of Christ. The death of Della Ruth ends a marriage of 61 years to Kenneth P. Kreisher. Also surviving are two daughters: Barbara LeVan and husband, Dennis, of Numidia and Jean Fronk and husband, Dale, of Greenville SC, a son: Paul Kreisher and wife, Kathleen of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother: Eugene Billhime and wife, Cathy, of Danville. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dwayne Nichols, officiating.
