Dawn E. Cromley , age 88, of Bloomsburg, died on Thursday, April 20, 2017, a resident of The Gardens at Orangeville. Dawn was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 56 years.
Dawn was born on Thursday, July 26, 1928 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Arnold and Claire (Ferguson) Coutts. Throughout her younger years, Dawn attended the Reed One Room School.
For over 26 years, Dawn was employed by Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School as a Cafeteria Aide until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher for over 27 years. Recently she attended Bloomsburg Bible Church. Dawn enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She enjoyed going on bus trips, playing cards and bingo, and attending carnivals. Her greatest enjoyment besides being with family and friends was visiting the beach and attending the Bloomsburg Fair.
In addition to her parents, Dawn was also preceded in death by her huband: Charles E. Cromley, Sr. on March 20, 1981; two sons: Charles E. Cromley, Jr. and Carl E. Cromley and two siblings: James Coutts and Faye Knorr. Dawn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include two children: Cathy A. Yantorn (Matthew) and Calvin E. Cromley both of Bloomsburg; granddaughter: Lisa Vanderslice of Bloomsburg; two step grandchildren: Melissa Sabo of Bloomsburg and Nicholas Yantorn (Casey) of Knoxville, TN; two great grand sons: Mason and Logan Halczak; and four step great granddaughters: Emily Sabo, Samantha Sabo, Brooke Yantorn, and Morgan Yantorn.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will continue on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Craig D. Laidacker, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Esther Furnace Cemetery, Catawissa. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Cromley family.
