David H. Smith, age 61, of Mifflinville, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, a patient of the Geisinger Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville. David was a resident of his home in Mifflinville for over 34 years.

He was born on Wednesday, August 7, 1957 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late David W. and Margretta H. "Peggy" (Hunt) Smith. David graduated from the Bloomsburg High School. For over 30 years, David was employed by JM Smucker/Big Heart Pet Brands, Bloomsburg. David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg and he loved to fish, especially going to Vermont to fly fish and ice fish.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by a sister, Dayle L. Stackhouse.

Survivors include a niece Rebecca A. wife of Tom Neyhard of Bloomsburg, a nephew, Brian R. Stackhouse of Bloomsburg, a brother in law, Robert J. Stackhouse of Bloomsburg, a great niece, Emily R. Neyhard, and a great nephew, Ryan T. Neyhard.

Graveside funeral services will begin on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy with Pastor Benjamin Zirra, Geisinger Hospice Chaplain, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Smith family.
