Obituary

David E. Billig, 77, of Elysburg, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

David was born on Monday, August 16, 1948 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Albert and Jean (Hoffman) Billig. He graduated from Southern Columbia High School,Class of 1966. On May 4, 1968, David married his loving wife, the former Sandra A. "Sandy" Stewart who preceded him in death on August 13, 2025. For many years, David was employed by PP&L, until his retirement in 2010. He had also beenemployed at the Interstate Amiesite, alongwith his uncle. David was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. He was also a member of the Elysburg Lodge # 349 F&AM, Berwick/Bloomsburg Royal Arch Chapter # 218, and Local 1600 IBEW. In his free time, David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching baseball.

In addition to his parents and wife, Sandy, David was also preceded in death by his brother, Dane Billig.

Survivors include his sons: Mark Billig and wife, Beth, of Catawissa, Ryan Billig and wife, Amy, of Elysburg, and Cory Billig and wife, Jody, of Elysburg; his grandchildren: Aubriel "Abbi" Billig of Reading, Chase Billig, Jenna Billig, and Lincoln Billig, all three of Elysburg; as well as a sister, Cheryl Scott.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in Bloomsburg.

His Memorial Services will begin on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with his pastor, Rev. Gordon E. Smith, officiating. Graveside committal services will be planned at a future date at the Esther Furnace Cemetery, Catawissa. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Billig family.

Memorial contributions in David's name are suggested to: Red Creek Wildlife Center, 300 Moon Hill Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
