Darlene R. Hunsinger Young, age 85, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday evening, December 18, 2022, at the Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Tuesday, October 19, 1937 in Nescopeck, a daughter of the late Carson and Virginia (Cooper) Keiser. Darlene graduated from the Lock Haven High School in 1955. She was a member of the Lightstreet Homemakers Club, the Garden Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Darlene enjoyed spending her time doing crafts such as sewing and ceramics and had a love for animals. She was an avid reader, especially of the Press Enterprise, enjoyed doing word search puzzles, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was also preceded in death by her first husband, Rodney Hunsinger, her second husband, Donald Young, a daughter, Roxanna Pletchan, a son, Russell Hunsinger, a sister, Anita Young, a brother, Carson Keiser, Jr., a son-in-law, Jim Moreland and a son-in-law, Jerry Dorn.

Survivors include her two beloved daughters; Lisa Moreland of Arlington, TX, Ferne Dorn of Bloomsburg, four grandchildren; Zach Pletchan, Mickey Hunsinger, Matthew Hess and wife Audra Briggs, Emily Pletchan, a sister, Kate Loyd and husband Cary of Harrisburg, three nephews, Cory Keiser, Nathan Loyd, Trevor Loyd, all of Harrisburg, three stepdaughters, Judy Sommers and husband Steve of AZ, Kathy Wagnon and husband Mitch of TX, and Nancy Bechtel and husband Alan of NC.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke's Way (Lightstreet Road), Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church with Pastor John A. Mohan, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Young family.
