Obituary

Cynthia Lorraine Miller, nee Bogert, passed peacefully on Friday April 18, 2025, surrounded by her family after an intense battle with cancer. Cindy is a cherished wife, sister, mother, nana, aunt, and friend. Cindy was born December 5, 1954, the oldest child and only daughter to David Guy Bogert and Judith Parks Bogert. She was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area. She graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1973.

Cindy was working at Romeo's Drive In in 1972 when she met the boy, Paul Miller, who turned into her lifetime partner. They were married in December 1973. Two daughters were born into the family in the late 1970's. Family was important to Cindy. Cindy, Paul, and their daughters spent time together on multiple camping trips, vacations to the beach, and bus trips to nearby attractions. Since their retirement, Cindy and Paul were active members at the Bloomsburg senior center, often found playing cards and engaging in boisterous conversation, and traveling.

Cindy started a career in healthcare as a nursing assistant soon after marrying Paul. In the mid 1980's, she accepted a position in the record department of Geisinger Medical Center that began a series of advancements that lead to her entering the Tumor Registry Department. In the early 1990s she became a Certified Tumor Registrar and worked in that capacity for various healthcare organizations until her retirement in 2020. Throughout her working life, she also maintained a good relationship with the Romeo family and could be found at their pizza stand during the Bloomsburg Fair.

Throughout their 51 years together, Cindy and Paul truly exemplified the vows "for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health 'til death do us part." In 2000, when Paul battled cancer, Cindy cared for him; and over the past year, as Cindy battled cancer, Paul cared for her until the very last breath. While death has parted them for now, they are confident their spirits will meet again.

Cindy carried herself with a quiet dignity that covered a sharp and ready wit once you got to know her. She was a friend, a partner and the rock that carried her family through all the trials and triumphs that 51 years of marriage can bring. For her daughters, she stood out as a working mother, showing the strength and determination it takes to balance work and family. She was a strong woman who raised strong women who are now raising strong women. Mom, we are forever grateful to you for the years you devoted to raising us and your spirit will always be with us.

Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Guy and Judy Bogert. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters Jodi (Eric) Wiggin and Jennifer (Eric) Hatch; as well as 4 beloved granddaughters Emily, Olivia, Charlotte, and Violet. She is also survived by her brothers, Robin (Stephanie) Bogert, Terry (Lora) Bogert, Alan Bogert, Donald (Tenette) Bogert as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or burial services. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice. Paul requests that any food donations be given to any of the area food banks. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Miller family.
