Craig T. Mervine, 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home. Born in Mount Carmel on January 21, 1948, he was a son to the late Walter and Emily (Blew) Mervine.
Craig was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1966. On May 13, 1972, he wed the love of his life, the former Joan F. Eckrote, with whom he would raise his family and share 47 years of marriage. Craig was a 41-year employee of Geisinger Medical Center, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Saint Columba Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family; watching his kids play soccer and, later, taking in his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed target shooting and was a member of the Mainville Sportsmen’s Club. Craig also liked woodworking and spending time sitting on his porch. Throughout his entire life, he possessed a keen interest in history.
Surviving Craig are children: Christopher T. Mervine and wife, Courtney, of Huntersville, NC and Megan B. Fijal and husband, Matthew, of Berwick; grandchildren: Hannah S. Mervine and Maggie J. Fijal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan F. (Eckrote) Mervine, who passed away October 20, 2019. He was also preceded in death by brothers: John Mervine, Elmer Mervine, and Vaughn Mervine.
Craig’s services are private and at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum, 2 W. 7th Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
