Cory G. Thackara, age 29, of Orangeville and formerly of Bloomsburg passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at his Orange Twp. home.

He was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1990 in Danville, a son of Anthony J. Thackara and Kimberly A. O'Brien. Cory graduated from Central Columbia High School in 2008 and expanded his education by attending Luzerne County Community College. Cory was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Montour Twp. Fire Co. and the Orangeville Fire Co. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, bull riding, riding ATV, horseback riding, and being with his family and friends. He enjoyed helping others in any way he could and was always giving a lending hand. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Penn State football fan.

Cory was preceded in death by an uncle and aunt, Fred and Jean (Miller) Beily who helped raise him.

Survivors include his mother, Kimberly A. O'Brien and her companion Jerry Tobin of Polo, IL, father, Anthony J. Thackara of Kingsland, GA, three sisters, Erin J. Lacey of Berwick, Christine M. Thackara of San Diego, CA, and Katie E. Norris and her finance Christopher McLellan of Berwick, maternal grandmother, Kathy (Miller) Carl and her companion Gregg Neff of Bloomsburg, maternal grandfather, Thomas L. O'Brien and his companion Connie Young of Orangeville, paternal grandparents, Bill and Jane Thackara of Danville, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Jennifer Parks Snyder, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Thackara family.
