Clotilde was a former resident of Puerto Rico, New York City and Palm Coast, FL. She was born on Tuesday, June 28, 1921, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Felix and Gumercinda (Ramirez) Montalvo. On December 20, 1941 she married her loving husband, Enrique Robles, in Mayaquez, Puerto Rico. They were married for 75 years. In 1946 they and their daughter, Myrna, came to New York to start a new life together.
Clotilde was a seamstress at Kamil & Son for 28 years, retiring in 1983, and moved to Palm Coast, Florida with her husband. In 2014 they moved to Long Island with their daughter, Hedy, and son in law, Jerry. In 2015 they moved to Bloomsburg where her daughter Myrna and son-in-law Richard live. Those who knew her will remember how she loved to sing, dance, work in her garden in Florida and cooking those delicious Puerto Rican meals. She enjoyed playing bingo and her trips to a casino, relishing in an occasional win. Most of all, and this goes without saying, she loved her family and friends, always keeping them in her daily prayers. Clotilde was an unassuming and kindly woman. Her spirit will continue to inspire and lift all of those who were fortunate to know and love her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters: Sarah Besosa and Lillian Pizzanelli; and a son-in-law Jerry Rieff.
