Clinton B. Robbins, age 77, of Hillside Road, Bloomsburg, died on Sunday morning, June 12, 2011 at home with his wife, of 57 years, by his side. He lived on Hillside Road for over 50 years. Following many battles with health challenges over the past few years, Clint returned home under hospice care.
Clint was born on Monday, October 16, 1933 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Clinton "Kize" L. and Elizabeth Arlene (Fisher) Robbins. He was a member of the 1951 Graduating Class of the Bloomsburg High School and also attended the Bloomsburg State Teachers College. Following his education, Clint served with the United States Army in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Clerk, for over 33 years until his retirement in 1990. Clint spent the last 15 years of his working career employed by the Allen Funeral Home until health concerns forced him to a complete retirement. He was a member of the Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton and was also a prior member of the Bloomsburg Church of the Nazarene where he served as Sunday School Superintendant, Choir Member and the Church Board.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister: Diane K. Holdren on February 13, 2008.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy T. (King) Robbins; three children: Richard S. Robbins of Quincy, MA; Valerie D. Hazlip and husband, Trent, of Stillwater, OK; and Stephen C. Robbins and wife, Joyce, of Danville; two grandchildren: Alicia and Jared Robbins.
A Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, June 17 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home, with Pastor Bud Rutherford, officiating. Graveside Services will be held in Kitchen United Methodist Cemetery. A combined VFW/American Legion Group will provide Military Honors.
